Contrary to popular belief, having a great looking lawn does not take a huge amount of time and money. Caring for your turf can actually be simple and easy, if you do the right things. Doing the right things means general lawn care is less time-consuming and you can get back to enjoying your yard!

Offering your grass a little bit of quick TLC every once and awhile will give your turf the facelift it needs to keep it looking fresh and not tired and worn out… and it can take as little as 15 minutes (well, if your lawn is huge, it may be a bit longer).

Fertilising

Fertilising your lawn is a quick and easy way to help your lawn thrive. In as little as 15 minutes, you can spread fertiliser across your lawn and turn on the irrigation/sprinkler or hose it in. For 15 minutes work, your lawn will get results for up to 3 months.

For more information on fertilising, head here.

Turf Colour

In the warmer months, your lawn losing colour can be quickly addressed with a fertilise and some additional watering. But if it’s during the cooler time of year, your grass has naturally slowed photosynthesis and is in a certain level of dormancy – this results in a discolouration that is completely normal.

If you want to improve this appearance though, so basically a ‘mini facelift’, you can apply ColourGuard. ColourGuard will be absorbed into the leaf of your turf as a natural pigment that will improve your lawns winter colour, as well as help to protect it from winter frost.

Brown or Dry Lawn

If your lawn is brown and/or dry, this can indicate that it is dehydrated. And, it is amazing how well your grass will recover after a good deep soaking! If you are lucky, the rain may come just when your lawn needs it - but if it doesn’t, and water restrictions in your area permit it, give your lawn a good watering. Doing this deeply and less frequently will lead to a more drought tolerant lawn, which saves you both time and water.

Weeds

If your turf is experiencing a weed or three, the best thing to do is jump on the problem as soon as possible, ensuring it doesn’t get out of control. A quick 15 minute walk around every couple of weeks is a good option, allowing you to remove any weeds that you see by hand. This will make all the difference and save you hours of spraying and promoting lawn growth to help it repair.
