Though the warm weather in Queensland can mean some lovely summer days, it can also mean something a little pesky for your lawn - summer grass weeds.
If you did a hearty fertilise of your lawn in spring, it is likely due for another application. A majority of the common, slow release fertilisers will provide nutrients for your lawn for up to 12 weeks - this means that if you fertilised in early - mid spring, around this time is a great top-up choice.
With the Queensland summer well and truly upon us, the temperatures (and humidity levels) generally sit pretty high for weeks on end - and a lot of us are lucky enough to be able to escape to an air-conditioned space when it truly gets unbearable. But, what about your lawn?
There are a few things you can do to make the path of recovery for your lawn both quicker and easier, as most warm season lawns will spread laterally, thicken up and recover with some care and attention - these include couch, zoysia and buffalo varieties.
If you were in a perfect world, you would have all the time you needed to do almost anything - Christmas shop when you wanted, clean the house before the relatives arrive and tend to your lawn and have it looking its best for when all the festivities begin. But, as we all know, unfortunately there aren’t 27 hours in the day and things aren’t always as organised, nor as planned as we would like. So, what can you do to get your lawn looking great in a hurry?
Although looking after your lawn may have some simple steps, many of us have been guilty from time to time of neglecting or forgetting to care for our turf.
