When the weather gets warmer, it's time to start thinking about lawn grubs. These destructive pests can quickly ruin a beautiful lawn, and they're especially active in the spring, summer and autumn months. There are a few things you can do to prevent grubs from ruining your lawn, and it's important to act quickly if you see signs of infestation.

What are Lawn Grubs?

Lawn grubs are small, c-shaped white or cream-colored creatures that are the larval form of several types of beetles. These pests feed on the roots of grass, which can cause extensive damage and even death to your lawn.

How to Check for Lawn Grubs

Lawn grubs can be a pesky problem for any homeowner. These little critters can cause big problems for your lawn, and if left unchecked, can do a lot of damage. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to check for lawn grubs and keep them from wreaking havoc on your lawn.

  • First, take a look at your lawn and see if there are any brown or dead patches. This can be a sign that grubs are present and are causing damage. If you see any of these areas, dig up a small section of turf to check for grubs.
  • Next, look for any damage to your grass that looks like it's been chewed on. This is another sign that grubs are present and are damaging your lawn.
  • Finally, if you have any suspicion that grubs are present, you can always call a professional.

Lawn Grub Treatment

Lawn grub treatment is an important part of keeping your lawn healthy and free of pests. There are a variety of methods available to treat grubs, and the best method for your lawn will depend on the severity of the infestation.

Acelepryn GR provides safe and effective control of a wide range of insects while minimizing environmental impact and non-target organisms like Bees and Earthworms. Acelepryn works by targeting a specific muscle receptor that is common in damaging causing insects making it one of the safest insecticides on the market!

The great thing about Acelepryn GR compared to other pesticides is that it’s not only curative but also preventative.

Lawn Grub Prevention

There are several things you can do to prevent lawn grubs:

  • Mow your lawn regularly and at the proper height. A well-maintained lawn is less attractive to grubs.
  • Water your lawn deeply and less frequently. This encourages deep root growth, which is less appealing to grubs.
  • Apply Acelepryn to your lawn in the spring. This will help kill any grubs that hatch.
  • If you do find grubs in your lawn, treat them with Acelepryn immediately.

Acelepryn Application

Acelepryn is best applied at six monthly intervals to provide year-round protection. We recommend using Acelepryn in September/October and again in March/April as a general guide. These two applications will prevent lawn grubs throughout the entire year.
